Tim, 18, is beginning his first year as an Otago University student, studying a Bachelor of Science, with ecology as his major, and marine science a minor. New Zealand born and raised, Tim has lived in Timaru, surrounded by pristine rivers, mountains, lakes, and the sea, fuelling his passion for the environment.
Tim was a Deputy Head Boy of Timaru Boys High School in 2016 as well as a peer support leader. He has contributed to the South Canterbury region by being involved in many voluntary activities such as pest and weed eradication programs while also being a member of the Lake Alexandrina conservation trust. Tim has also completed his Bronze & Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards and uses his love of the outdoors for enjoyment through the likes of fishing but he also aims to spread environmental awareness and create change.
