George Fyfe, 17, is the 2018 Environment Prefect at Scots College, Wellington. George attended YELF in 2017 and set up an Environment Council at his school soon after. His 2018 focus for the Environment Council is to install recycling bins across the College, and to create a 5 year plan for his school to achieve Carbon Zero status.
George is studying for the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Scots, is Captain of Rowing, and a member of the 2nd XV. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking through the hills of Wellington and skiing on the slopes of the South Island.
George lived in Santiago, the capital city of Chile, for five years. As a result, he is a fluent Spanish speaker and has a passion for travel, adventure and the experience of other places and cultures.
Following his completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma at the end of 2018, George is looking to spend the first half of 2019 working and traveling in South America before (hopefully) starting a degree in Geography and Environmental Sciences at the University of Edinburgh.
