Leith Cooper is a Science and Physics teacher at Cashmere High School in Christchurch. He runs the school’s Sustainability Council, which won the global Zayed Future Energy Prize in 2016, which has enabled the school to install 100 solar panels, a wind-turbine and kinetic floor tiles which generate electricity from student footsteps. Leith is the Environmental Educator for this expedition. Following the expedition, he will work on a new marine environment and leadership education framework.
He is a keen skier and long-distance ocean swimmer.
