MEDIA RELEASE: James Gibson New CEO Of Sir Peter Blake Trust
The Sir Peter Blake Trust today announced that James Gibson from Sport NZ would take up the role of CEO with the Trust from February next year. This follows the recent departure of previous CEO Shelley Campbell who took up a new role in the Waikato.
Sir Peter Blake Trust Chair Paul Reynolds says the position attracted extraordinary interest from extremely high calibre applicants, which said much for the strong reputation of the Trust throughout New Zealand.
He said James has extensive marketing and commercial experience both within this country and overseas which were key factors in his appointment. He is currently GM, Partnerships and Communication for Sport NZ but has previously held senior roles at Air NZ including Head of Sponsorship & Community and Head of Sustainability.
Dr Reynolds says his proven ability to form relationships across a wide range of stakeholders will be important as the Trust continues to grow particularly in the environmental leadership space.
As Trust Chair, he said he also wanted to acknowledge the huge contribution of previous CEO Shelley Campbell and that of Acting CEO Sally Paterson who has worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition.
Mr Gibson will take up his new role on February 12, 2018.
