Charlotte has just completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Environmental Science from the University of Waikato. She was the recipient of a Waikato University Summer Research Scholarship, where she worked on a pest fish management programme alongside university researchers. She has also been granted a Cawthron Institute Summer Scholarship where she will be working on an algal toxicity project.
She is passionate about using the skills obtained throughout her degree to reduce human impacts on the natural environment, and believes that communicating science in a way that is accessible to the public is a crucial part of any research project. Charlotte's interests include getting outdoors into New Zealand nature through tramping. Charlotte is excited to work alongside expert NIWA scientists both in the field and the lab. As a recent graduate, this is a great opportunity to apply the skills she has learnt throughout her studies in a practical context.
