Kia ora!

My name is Tilly, and I am a part time environmental educator at BLAKE here in Ōtautahi!

I am currently studying a bachelor of Environmental Science majoring in Ecology at Te Whare Wananga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury, and I love learning about unique incredible environments, and then exploring solutions for what we can do to help them. Another passion is inspiring others to make a change and learn about the challenges, issues and solutions for our environment. I love this role at BLAKE with NZVR, as it connects environmental science, marine conservation issues and science communication – helping inspire the next generation of environmental leaders!

Outside of studying, I love volunteering my time to many different community groups and projects, many of which are facilitated through the Student Volunteer Army and are a great way to connect to the community and to our planet. I also love tramping, exploring and going on adventures; learning and exploring out in nature is where I feel the happiest!
