Te Aue Addison-Valaau
Te Aue Addison-Valaau hails from Waitahanui, Taupō and has whakapapa links to Ngāti Tuwharetoa, Ngāi Tahu and Te Ātiawa-ki-te-Tau-Ihu.
Te Aue works for Plant and Food Research as the Principal Advisor to the General Manager Māori leading strategic advice and partnerships with Māori entities, regional businesses and government agencies to develop horticulture, plant and seafood research and innovation. She graduated from Victoria University in 2013 and has held various roles in the public sector, including for the Crown Forestry Rental Trust, Massey University and the Environmental Protection Authority and Auckland Council.
While Te Aue is new to governance, in 2016 she completed the Ka Eke Poutama Iwi Governance Programme and was also appointed as a board member of YWCA Aotearoa New Zealand in 2017.
Te Aue seeks opportunities to contribute to youth leadership, Māori economic development and sustainability outcomes.
