Reon Morrison

Reon was a year 13 student at Wesley College, a rural based co-curriculum kura immersing students in a faith, sporting, academic, and culturally diverse environment. Reon has an immense passion for the outdoors, focusing around outdoor recreation and kaitiakitanga. He has had a variety of involvement with pest control, weed management, and influencing younger and older generations locally. In 2022 Reon was accepted onto the April Blake Inspire programme, opening his horizon beyond his backyard in environmental change and leadership. From this opportunity, Reon further ventured into this pathway going on Spirit of Adventures 10 day voyage (#845) and working on establishing predator control initiatives in and around his kura.

In 2023 Reon is planning on further inspiring local kaitaki of the future and continuing volunteer work in his community. In time to come, Reon is endeavouring on a two year diploma into environmental management with the intention of gaining the skills and knowledge to change and influence the narrative of predator control and environmental change.
