Luke O’Brien

Luke calls the beautiful Tauranga Moana home. He resides there with his wife Shannen. He has Whakapapa ties to Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Pikiao, NgāPuhi and Ngāti Kuri.

He is a Commercial Analyst with Westpac NZ and works in a team that assists Commercial and Corporate businesses with various finance needs. He has been employed with the bank for 6 years in various roles. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Otago and obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Accounting with Massey University. He is very keen to help his Iwi and fellow Iwi members continue to grow and prosper whilst adhering to Tikinga practices & values.

Luke is a keen sportsman, although today you are more likely to see him on the side lines watching as opposed to playing. He is passionate about all things sports & fitness related. He will give most challenges a go and is very eager to take on the exciting challenges as part of the BLAKE Expedition to Rangitāhua.
