Kate Archer

Kate is based in Auckland and is joining the expedition as a representative of Westpac bank. Kate’s career has intersected across both finance and sustainability and she’s spent the last five years focussed on sustainable financing and responsible investment.

Kate is a Director in Westpac’s Sustainable Finance team where she works with Westpac’s business customers to help them achieve their sustainability goals. Prior to joining Westpac, Kate was based in Amsterdam working for the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), as well as holding a range of banking roles at ASB, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Bank of America Merill Lynch in London.

Kate’s grandfather spent most of his life as a captain at sea and she’s excited to experience something similar. She’s keen to get stuck into the exciting challenges and learning opportunities that the BLAKE Expedition presents, while educating others on the role of finance to drive positive change to society and the environment.
