Holly Bagwell
Holly is the Head of Sustainability at Long Bay College. As a leader in her schools Environment Group, in 2019 Holly began a project to create a Regenerative Garden at Long Bay College. Working alongside For the Love of Bees, the garden was created. After learning about the importance of inspiring others during Blake Inspire in 2020, Holly formed an action plan to turn the garden into an outdoor classroom to create understanding to help drive change. The garden was a large part of gaining Long Bay College’s Bronze Enviroschool’s award in 2020 and Silver in 2021. Holly’s drive to protect the wellbeing of the people and planet has taken her on many adventures. She works at Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre (MERC), leading water and land activities from bush survival to stand up paddle boarding.
Strongly believing that we need to look after ourselves to look after the world, Holly is youngest qualified yoga teacher in New Zealand, teaching classes which inspire others. She was selected for the Rotary Science and Technology Forum, Eat NZ Kaitaki, and was a finalist in the Girl Boss Edge Ministry for Primary Industries Challenge. This year Holly is completing Duke of Edinburgh Gold. Holly always seeks new adventures to help her learn a little bit more about the planet and people on it.
