Clare Woodward
Expedition Doctor
Clare Woodward has been a GP in Auckland for 26 years. She trained at Auckland Medical school graduating in 1990 and did Post Graduate diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Paediatrics. She has lived and worked also in Taranaki, England and a stint in Kenya. She is also a medical educator and mentor for trainee GPs.
Clare grew up in a sailing family, so loves the ocean. She has a doctor husband and three children aged 17-22. As a family they have done a lot of skiing,ski-touring, sailing, kayaking, tramping and travelling in New Zealand and Asia. She has always wanted to travel to the Sub-Antarctic islands and learn more about the history and wildlife there. She also loves music and plays cello in a couple of orchestras.
