Opportunities of a lifetime

This year, ten talented young New Zealanders from all over the country have been selected to take part in the 2019/20 BLAKE Ambassador programme.

Through BLAKE’s partnership with NIWA, the Department of Conservation (DOC), Antarctica New Zealand and GNS Science these young leaders have been given the opportunity to work alongside teams of world-class scientists and conservationists to take part in science and conservation projects.

Stationed in remote locations in the Southern Ocean, Antarctica and around New Zealand, the BLAKE Ambassador programme offers unique opportunities to contribute to important projects while advancing their career opportunities.

Each programme is designed to both advance their understanding of some of the big questions and challenges facing the environment and their leadership capability to drive positive change and inspire other New Zealanders.
