Alice Ward-Allen
Kia ora koutou. Ko Alice Ward-Allen tōku ingoa. Ko Whakatōhea tōku iwi. Nō Pukekohe ahau engari kei Te Whanganui-a-Tara tōku kainga. Ko tāku mahi ki BLAKE ko Head of Programmes.
I started with BLAKE at the beginning of 2020, as an environmental educator delivering our NZ-VR programme in schools across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Since then I have worked across the organisation and am now ‘Head of Programmes’ based in Wellington. Through my current role, I work across and lead all BLAKE programmes. These programmes are focused on educating and inspiring people to care for and take action to protect our natural world.
After graduating from the University of Otago with a BSc majoring in Ecology and Zoology in 2016, I was first involved with BLAKE as a BLAKE Ambassador in February 2016, working on biodiversity projects with Department of Conservation and Hawkes Bay Regional Council.
Since then, I have worked across the environmental sector including as part of the Policy team at Waikato Regional Council, and as an Environmental Consultant at 4Sight Consulting.
Most of my time outside of work is spent outdoors, in particular surfing, diving and tramping.
