Nicola Stanton

Born and Bred in Taranaki, 2022 Head Girl and Dux of Waitara High School; Nicola Stanton is a dedicated student leader with focused attention and knowledge towards environmental and climate issues. This has led her to conduct various environmental projects in her community, which last year saw her receive the Taranaki Regional Council Environmental Award for Environmental Action in Education.
Nicola also works alongside the Taranaki Kiwi Trust trapping pests over her property in Tongapōrutu – achieving positive outcomes for bird life in this region.

Nicola is passionate, motivated, and an aspiring environmentalist who attended the April 2022 BLAKE Inspire programme. Nicola is beyond excited to be participating in the 2023 BLAKE Expedition to the Sub-Antarctic Islands; she intends to use this experience to encourage others to care, to take action, and to sustain an environment her own and succeeding generations will be proud to live in for years to come!
