As a programme manager at BLAKE I work in the management and delivery of the NZ-VR prgramme and BLAKE Explorers programme in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington.
I have a passion for biodiversity and earth sciences and gained a BSc at Otago University in geography and environmental management. After my undergraduate studies I worked summer seasons in the Abel Tasman National Park where my love for community, environmental education and connection to the moana grew even stronger. I have now completed a GradDip in Marine Biology and a MSc in Marine Biology at the Victoria University of Wellington. Throughout my studies I volunteered for local environmental organisations such as Our Seas Our Future and Ghost Diving New Zealand as well as working in the marine sciences team at the Department of Conservation and summer internships at Cawthron Institute and as a NIWA/BLAKE ambassador.
Growing up in the seaside village of Māpua in Te Tai-o-Aorere/ Tasman Bay developed my love affair with nature and I now love to spend my free time hiking, diving and surfing. I also love art and have just had my first solo exhibition at the Single Fin Mingle Surf festival in Sumner. My passion is bridging the relams of science and art.
As a passionate conservationist and outdoor adventurer I am excited to be part of the BLAKE team, igniting passion and inspiring connection of our tamariki and rangatahi to grow as kaitiakit of te taiao.
